Canton Pickle Festival - June 15, 2024
The inaugural Canton Pickle Fest is happening this Summer in Downtown Canton at Centennial Plaza. Enjoy this free event including a family scavenger hunt, pickle games, pickle content, and lots of pickle vendors.
Ernest Warther Museum & Gardens
Ernest “Mooney” Warther, born October 30th, 1885, began carving at age five. His first knife led to a lifetime of carving, earning him the title of World’s Master Carver. Warther would work full-time at a local steel mill for 23 years while carving was his hobby. He would capture the Evolution of the Steam Engine as well as Major Events in U.S. Steam History; each piece is hand-sculpted, scaled, and mechanized. Mooney did not want to create art without meaning. By carving the evolution of the steam engine, he could use his artistic abilities to convey the importance of invention, engineering, and progress that impacted the world’s history. Warther would set down his knife in 1973, after carving for sixty years. His legacy remains here in Dover, Ohio. Ernest Warther Museum and Gardens is built around the original location of Ernest and his wife's home, his original workshop, and the first museum which opened on May 10th, 1936 in their backyard. Come and experience the inspirational life story and hand-sculpted works by Ernest “Mooney” Warther, the World’s Master Carver.

McKinley Presidential Library & Museum
The McKinley Presidential Library & Museum is an ideal destination for families because we have something for everyone. Our facility includes the McKinley Gallery, featuring the largest collection of McKinley memorabilia in the world; the Street of Shops, a life-sized indoor 19th-century town; the Stark County Story, a permanent exhibition exploring 200 years of local history; Discover World, an interactive science center; and the 65-seat Hoover-Price Planetarium. We are also the home of the Ramsayer Research Library, a non-lending facility for research, and a changing exhibition space called the Keller Gallery, which features rotating traveling exhibitions and shows produced in-house featuring our permanent collection of artifacts. There is a large HO gauge train layout in the Street of Shops which is very popular with kids and adult train enthusiasts. Pegasus Farm Country Store & Gardens
Located at Pegasus Farm in Hartville, Ohio, the Country Store and Gardens features bulk foods, including some organic and gluten-free, non-gmo products; fresh baked goods, local honey, farm fresh eggs, gift items and fresh produce grown on the Farm. The purpose of this endeavor is to provide job training and employment opportunities for adults who have developmental disabilities. Proceeds from store sales are used to support the mission of Pegasus Farm, providing services to individuals with special needs. An important component to the Country Store is our five-acre Wellness Garden. The Country Store and Gardens features fresh, naturally-grown vegetables, fruits, and flowers. This produce is grown on Pegasus Farm by the individuals in the Wings program.

Play Football, First Play - July 31, 2024
For the 24th year, the national celebration will begin with Play Football First Play presented by Panini. This great event features thousands of children who form a human chain and pass a football along a 3-mile route from the location in downtown Canton, where the NFL was founded, to the front steps of the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Play Football First Play presented by Panini participants (children 18 and under) receive a T-shirt, Panini cards, free voucher to the Pro Football Hall of Fame to use at a later date, lunch provided by AVI Foodsystems on the Hall of Fame grounds and access to the First Play KidsFest! The Wilderness Center
The Wilderness Center is a nonprofit land conservation organization and nature center headquartered in Wilmot, Ohio. Our trails are open free of charge daily, from dawn to dusk. The over 10 miles of trails at our headquarters include old growth forest, a lake, a pond, a lookout tower and native plant prairies. Outdoor amenities include a paved, wheelchair and stroller-accessible Nature Playscape that encourages children to explore nature in creative ways. A child-size, all-terrain wheelchair is available for reservation free of charge. In the Interpretive Building guests can purchase unique items and limited snacks from our nature Gift Shop, observe (and listen to!) birds and other wildlife from the comfort of our indoor Wildlife Observation Room, and learn from hands-on interactive exhibits. The site at Wilmot also features an Astronomy Education Building which houses both a planetarium and observatory.
